Overhead conveyor for carcasses have long been the main production element of the industrial slaughter of cows and pigs for the reason that the processing of the carcass is efficient and convenient when it is suspended vertically, slightly above human height. Technologies have changed over time, but this principle has remained unchanged.
Overhead conveyor for half carcasses are used for movement along slaughter lines and accumulation in refrigerating chambers of half-carcasses of pigs and cattle on the Eurohook. The diameter of the pipe through which transportation is carried out is Ø60.3×3.5 mm. This pipe size has become the most popular for the simplicity of its construction and hygienic reasons compared to the older pathing types. The pipe is attached to the beam of the supporting structure using brackets. Suspended tracks are made of “Stal-3” brand steel with hot-dip galvanizing.
Rotary arrows are used to change the movement direction of the half-carcass along the pipe, making movement straight or sideways (left-right). “Turns” can also be used, which changes the movement direction in one way only. The half-carcasses movement on the way to the cold chambers is carried out manually.
A door cardan is installed in the refrigerator or freezer door frame to reduce the loss of cold, which connects the pipe of the chamber and the workshop at the food enterprise.
A chain conveyor can be used as an overhead path for transporting half-carcasses to the loading ramp. A special telescopic rod is used to load half-carcasses into road transport with suspension tracks.
Maintenance of overhead meat tracks must be carried out by qualified personnel. Highlights:
Visually check all threaded connections for loosening before starting work.
If the loosening of the twisted parts is detected, tighten the thread.
All parts of suspended walkways must be immovably fixed to ensure the safety of people working with them.
To ensure easy sliding of Eurohooks, the pipe of the suspended ways must be lubricated with “mol food grease 2” food grease or its analogues. The lubrication interval is at least once every 20 shifts.
It is worth noting that our company also manufactures chain conveyor systems for the overhead path of the slaughter line, which are used in pig slaughter lines with a capacity of 50 heads per hour or more.
In the suspended track system for slaughterhouses, monorail scales are always used to control the half-carcasses weight at the end of the production cycle. Before the cold rooms or the shipping ramp.
Transport carts for Eurohooks are almost always used. Also, machines for washing hooks and shackles are installed on more productive slaughter lines.
A differential lifter is an important element of the system. It performs the carcass` lifting function after the slaughter after it has been removed from the receiving table during pig slaughter. Sometimes, a chain hoist is used for less productive meat processing lines. A mechanical lower is installed to lower the half-carcass, for example, on the receiving table of the deboning line.
Lifting the carcass onto the road is carried out with the help of a rope. The hitch is made by one of the animal’s legs. Later, according to the production process, in the “hanging” area, the carcass is hung on two Eurohooks.
